Sanskrit writing all over the bowl both inside and outside is the mantra "om mani padme hum" Hail the jewel of the lotus.
Symbol inside the bowl is the eye of the Buddha, which is also known as wisdom eyes and symbolises the all knowing Buddha and connection and unity of all things. The symbol on the outside of the bowl is the Buddhist endless knot symbolising duality and the interwoven connectedness of all things, unity.
