Biography
Renee is a highly respected sound healer, recording artist, Qigong Instructor, and community leader based in Far North Queensland, Australia. As the founder of
Sound Angel Music, Renee has dedicated nearly 30 years to the art of sound therapy, using vibrational medicine to facilitate deep
healing and transformation.
The Journey Into Sound
Renee's path took a profound turn in her early twenties after a life-altering sound healing session with therapist Cathy Dean. This experience led her to leave her conventional life behind and move to the forest for a year-long apprenticeship with Cathy Dean, where she learnt the nuances of toning and the energetic power of sound.
Since moving to Cairns in 1999, Renee has built an extensive musical family of sacred instruments. Her sessions are known for their rich sonic tapestry, featuring Crystal Singing Bowls and Crystal Lyre, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Gongs including Paiste Moon Gong and Sound Creation Earth Gong, Native American style flutes, Medicine Drums, Rattles, Rainsticks, Monolina, Chimes, Tuning Forks and more....
Renee's Resilience
Renee's work is deeply inspired by her personal journey of resilience. Following the tragic loss of her eldest son, Paul, in 2015, she found profound solace and heart healing through the Native American flute. This period of grief inspired her 2019 album, Peace, and her enchanting children's book series, Koko and the Magical Flute.
Qigong and Martial Arts Expertise
A firm believer in the harmony of movement and sound, Renee is a Level 4 Qigong Instructor (certified by Master Simon Blow) and a 1st Dan Black Belt in both Tang Soo Do and Shitoryu Karate. She has furthered her movement studies with Dr. Paul Lam (Tai Chi for Arthritis) and Masters Robert Peng, Daisy Lee and Mimi Kudeemer.
Renee integrates these practices into her weekly classes in Cairns and Mareeba, helping people to cultivate life-force energy (Qi) for physical endurance, emotional balance, mental clarity and spiritual presence.

*Soul Harmonics Orchestra: Playing together for 10 years and releasing our first recorded album, The Cosmic Seed (2010) blessed by Cherokee Medicine Man Bobby Runningfox.
*Interfaith Performance: Playing for 500 people at a 2019 gathering attended by His Holiness the 42nd Kyabgon Gongma Trizin.
*Event Management: Spearheading Australia's first Sound Healing Symposium (2023) and leading numerous retreats and community events.
*Certified Courses: Renee's expertise comes together in her industry accredited Sound Healing Practitioners Course recognised worldwide through the International Institute of Complementary Therapists.
